Public hearing: Inquiry into the provisions of the Economic Recovery Package (JobMaker Hiring Credit) Amendment Bill 2020

The Senate referred the provisions of the Economic Recovery Package (JobMaker Hiring Credit) Amendment Bill 2020 to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by November 6, 2020. The bill amends the Coronavirus Economic Response Package (Payments and Benefits) Act 2020 to enable the Treasurer to make rules to provide for a coronavirus economic response payment in relation to the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme, which will operate for the period from October 7, 2020 to October 6, 2022.
